Todoist weekly review1/3/2024 ![]() ![]() You can create smaller tasks underneath a bigger task, which, as a copywriter, is very useful. I'm a massive fan of the subtasks feature. I was fed up with the complex formulas of other project management software. The design is clean and clear, and everything about it is just as simple. I love how straightforward Todoist is to use. Overall, Todoist has a really simple design, and an even simpler user-experience. You can set daily goals of the number of tasks you want to complete, too, which is good for productivity. I personally LOVE the noise it makes when you cross off one of your tasks. You can add subtasks, too, which is super useful. ![]() They can see only their list, and no one else's. I use a different list for different clients. You need to set up different 'workspaces', but it's literally just different lists. So, I needed to find something that was simple, presented clearly, and easily edited. As such, time management is a massive part of what I do. I'm a copywriter, and my business revolves around creating copy for clients. But when it comes to project management, I found that I was spending more time sorting out my Trello boards (or any other board) to be presentable, set up automations, and generally maintain it, than actually getting work done. I'm used to Excel spreadsheets, and I enjoy automation. I desperately just wanted something that looked like a to-do list. I liked them all for two weeks, and then I got lost in the formulas. In my experience, more features just meant more distractions from actually checking off items on my task list. This and the sheer number of functions steered me towards an alternative as I was looking for something simpler. If you are ok with paying a monthly fee, then the 4$/month (3$ if you pay for the whole year upfront) is a reasonable ask. ![]() The free version is great to test the service but too limited to use as daily driver. One thing that makes Todoist especially easy to use is that you can add tasks by email, you can add attachements (the word doc you need to read is right there). Different views, such as a Kanban type of board can help organize and manage your task list. The app gives you lots of ways to slice and dice your todo list, such as favorites, different priority levels and lables. That makes it easy and fast to navigate once you are familiar with it. I have not used the collaborative function but would expect it to work well too. Todoist is great if you want to adhere to the GTD philosophy or if you want to create your own customized system to manage your tasks. This helps you see with a glance (or using a filtering function) what is relevant or important. Tags are an especially useful future as are priorities. In the meantime they have introduced native apps for all major platforms. The minimalist design language was one of the first of its kind back when they first started out as an online-only service. Todoist works exceptionally well, smooth like butter and does not get in the way of organizing your life. Todoist has its flaws for example, I don't like how I frequently get notifications about repeating tasks this isn't a constant problem, but it is annoying because it disrupts my flow of work. The Windows app and the mobile app both suffer from the same bug, making synchronization difficult and time-consuming.The paid version doesn't seem to offer much more than the free one does, as the only differences I can see are minor tweaks like the addition of Reminders and roles. I like Todoist because it allows me to work and organize my day to day, with this software I can have control of my things, giving me the opportunity to do my tasks and projects that have more priority for me at work, with Todoist I can make my tasks larger in small tasks with the option of subtasks likewise I can do the same with the projects, in this way I can make my work less complex to elaborate, in addition to that I can set a due date to deliver a project so I do not delay in a task or project. Todoist also allows us to add notes, images, even a spreadsheet and PDF documents, Todoist allows us to search tasks by keywords, has templates for projects, makes backup copies and above all helps your work productivity. Todoist helps me synchronize all my tasks, no matter what device I'm using and best of all, it's in real time. ![]()

Fear 3 release date ps31/3/2024 ![]() ![]() If I'm wrong than this point is invalid unless the maps are different than in which case I'll have to see them to compare them.ģ: The fully auto shotgun. From what I know the Instant Action maps were only on the PS3 version, and the Xbox version didn't get them but the maps were in the F.E.A.R. 3 have friendly AI, but it's just really special to see it in the OG game.Ģ: Instant action maps. ![]() fight both the player and another character, and I know Extraction Point, Perseus Mandate, F.E.A.R. It's just such a cool thing to see the amazing AI in F.E.A.R. On the other hand, the PS3 version lets you unlock the level a little earlier in the campaign, and to some what replace the slow motion you get a squad mate for the mission that makes the firefights even more chaotic and intense especially on extreme. To me I feel like the Xboxes bonus level is a downgrade because you play as Holiday and the only thing that sets it apart from the rest of the levels in the game is he has a hostage to escort and he can't use slow motion. The PS3 version like the Xbox version has a bonus level but unlike the Xbox version they made this bonus level very unique and fun. I personally think the PS3 version is the best version of the game for a couple of reasons (note I don't own the Xbox version so if I get something wrong I apologize). I recently started thinking about how the first game had multiple differences from one system to the next and was wondering if anyone else had a preference for the version they play. ![]()

Victor halston1/3/2024 ![]() ![]() The film tells the story of the rise and fall of Roy Halston Frowick, one of America’s most prominent fashion designers. The Netflix synopsis for the five-episode series reads: “The limited series Halston follows the legendary fashion designer, as he leverages his single, invented name into a worldwide fashion empire that’s synonymous with luxury, sex, status and fame, literally defining the era he lives in, 1970’s and ‘80’s New York - until a hostile takeover forces him to battle for control of his most precious asset… the name Halston itself.Halston is a 2019 American biographical documentary film written and directed by Frédéric Tcheng and produced by CNN Films and Amazon Originals. ![]() What can we expect from the Netflix show? He died in 1990 aged 57 from AIDS-related complications including lung cancer. His work was dropped by Bergdorf Goodman after many years, and he faced further career difficulties, no longer designing for companies he had previously worked with. The move to create an affordable line of clothing was something Halston hoped would “give him a chance to dress America”, according to The New York Times, but instead damaged his standing in the fashion sphere. Things took a downward turn for Halston after he made a deal with JC Penney. In his later life, he is understood to have spent much time at the Studio 54 disco in New York. What happened to him in later life and how did he die? In later years he expanded his collections to include menswear, fragrance, lingerie and more, as well as staff uniforms for American airline Braniff Airways. Other celebrity clients reportedly included Great Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor and Margaux Hemingway. He would continue to design clothes for Minnelli long into his later life, including for her theatrical production on Broadway called The Act. His designs were popular with many celebrities, including Liza Minnelli and Bianca Jagger, who became close friends of Halston’s – Minnelli is played in the Netflix drama by Krysta Rodriguez. Who wore his clothes? Actress Liza Minnelli (right) pictured at Studio 54 with fashion designer Halston and Bianca Jagger in the late 1970 (Photo: Bettmann Archive) He was known for sophisticated, figure-skimming designs, favouring materials such as chiffons and silk, helping the move away from 1960s hippy styles to more elegant and minimalist designs fit for the disco scene of the 1970s. ![]() He later made both couture clothes and ready-to-wear, with some of his famed creations including an “Ultrasuede” shirtdress and a halterdress that became popular with women in discos. This helped Halston become even more famous and, as less people chose to wear hats, he moved into womenswear, later starting his own company.Īccording to The New York Times, his first clothes collection was “supposed to bridge the gap between couture and ready-to-wear”. Perhaps one of Halston’s most famous creations was the pillbox hat worn by Jacqueline Kennedy in 1961, worn during her husband’s presidential inauguration. Haslton hired him as a window dresser, and Hugo – who is played by Gian Franco Rodriguez in the Netflix series – would later go on to work with Andy Warhol at The Factory, and also as a model for the pop artist. In his personal life, Halston was in an on-off relationship lasting around a decade with an artist named Victor Hugo, who he met in the early 1970s. He later worked with the Bergdorf Goodman department store. He then moved to New York City, where he began working with milliner Lilly Daché, eventually becoming co-designer, gaining acclaim and building a network of important people in the industry. Ewan McGregor plays the role of Halston in the Netflix series (Photo: JOJO WHILDEN/NETFLIX) This helped him get noticed and soon celebrities such as Deborah Kerr and Kim Novak were wearing his designs, according to his obituary in The New York Times. He opened his first millinery shop in Chicago in the 1950s and quickly became a hit after a local newspaper ran an article about his work. Hats were Halston’s first big claim to fame. ![]()

![]() As transcriptionally inactive cells, spermatozoa rely heavily upon posttranslational modifications and remodeling of their constituent proteins to attain a state of functional maturity. This phenomenon is proving particularly true of the male gametes, which must complete several complex phases maturation in order to gain the functional competence to engage in one of the most intricate of all cellular interactions, fertilization. Among this multitude of functions, the ability of chaperones to mediate the assembly of oligomeric complexes is of particular interest as advances in functional proteomics have revealed that a significant portion of a cell's proteome realize their functional potential in multiprotein complexes rather than as singular entities ( Sali et al. The heat shock proteins (HSPs), among other ubiquitous chaperone families, have well-documented roles in preventing the aberrant association or aggregation of proteins in addition to facilitating protein synthesis, translocation, de novo folding, and higher ordered assembly of multiprotein complexes ( Hendrick & Hartl 1993, Neuer et al. Originally identified as inducible proteins involved in the protection of cells from multiple stresses, molecular chaperones are now recognized as participants in a diverse range of functions due to their ability to selectively bind to hydrophobic residues of target proteins, directing their involvement in correct protein folding or degradation pathways ( Ellis 1987, Hendrick & Hartl 1993). Further analyses of the intermediary proteins that facilitate the expression of key players in sperm–egg fusion are likely to deliver important insights into this unique event, which culminates in the cytoplasmic continuity of the male and female gametes. ![]() Despite these findings, the analysis of oocyte surface multiprotein complexes is currently lacking. Preliminary studies of the oocyte plasma membrane have also revealed the presence of lipid rafts comprising several molecular chaperones, raising the possibility that similar mechanisms may be involved in the activation of maternal fusion machinery and the regulation of oocyte plasma membrane integrity. While the activation of these molecular chaperones and the mechanisms by which they shuttle proteins to the surface of the cell remain the subject of ongoing investigation, a compelling suggestion is that these processes are augmented by dynamic membrane microdomains or lipid rafts that migrate to the apical region of the sperm head after capacitation. ![]() Novel research suggests that these highly specific cellular interactions are facilitated by multiprotein complexes that are delivered to and/or assembled on the surface of the gametes by molecular chaperones in preparation for sperm–egg interaction. The remarkable complexity of the molecular events governing adhesion and fusion of the male and female gametes is becoming apparent. ![]()

List of ctrl shortcuts excel1/2/2024 ![]() Since it really takes less than a second to travel more than 1 million rows, let's just call it 10,000 miles per hour. If you put your cursor in A1 and press Control + down arrow, you'll be past the millionth row in less than a second. Modern Excel has more than 1 million rows. If you start in an empty cell, the behavior is reversed - the cursor will move to the first cell with content and stop. The cursor will travel to the first empty cell (or the edge of the spreadsheet, whichever comes first). Rather than scroll up, down, right and left, manually just put your cursor into the data and use Control + Arrow key to move in any direction to the edge of the data range (On a Mac you can use Command or Control). This shortcut sounds boring but it is vital if you routinely work with big lists or tables. Finally, the third time you use Control + A, the entire worksheet is selected. The second time, both the table data + table header are selected. The first time you use Control + A, the table data is selected. The behavior changes again when the cursor is in an Excel Table. But if the cursor is in a group of contiguous cells, Control + A will select the entire group of cells instead. ![]() If the cursor is in an empty cell, Control + A selects the entire worksheet. However, in Excel, this shortcut behaves differently in different contexts. Many people know the shortcut for "select all": Control + A. This is far faster than fiddling with each filter manually. So, if you have multiple filters active, you can "reset" all filters by using the shortcut twice in a row: once to remove the filters (which clears all filters), and once again to add a new autofilter. But the best part is toggling off the autofilter will clear any filters that have been set. With the same shortcut, Control + Shift + L (Mac: Command + Shift + F) you can toggle filters on and off any list or data set. If you frequently filter lists or tables, this shortcut should be at the top of your list. But did you know that you can also paste formatting, paste column widths, multiply and add values in place, and even transpose tables? It's all there. At the very least, you probably already use paste special to strip out unwanted formatting and formulas (Paste special > Values). ![]() There are so many things you can do with paste special it's a topic in itself. At that point, you'll need to choose the type of paste you want to perform. This shortcut, Control + Alt + V (Mac: Control + Command + V) doesn't actually finish the paste it just opens the Paste Special dialog box. ![]() Video: 30 popular Excel shortcuts in 12 minutes Display the Paste Special dialog box ![]()

Sidekick id games1/2/2024 ![]() ![]() The screen for the browser is actually quite clear, with pictures that download on Web sites coming in clearly. But it also comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera (not so great for indoor photos), a music player and a Web browser. It’s also chock full of other useful applications that you’ll probably find standard on most phones nowadays: an address book, calendar and games. Isn’t that reason enough? It is one phone that’s definitely made the rounds of the paparazzi’s favorite victims, though their Sidekicks tend to be more blinged (maybe they have the Juicy Couture version) like Paris Hilton’s or Lindsay Lohan’s. IM’ing is a breeze.Īnd besides, everyone on “The Hills” has a Sidekick. Your thumbs go to town almost as well as a regular keyboard. The thing about the Sidekick that works fairly well - especially if you have smaller hands - is the keyboard. For sheer ease of keyboard tapping and sending IM’s, text messages and e-mails, it’s the hands-down winner. In high school, all you care about is connecting with your friends, and this generation has found new ways to do it - IM, MySpace, texting - generally non-verbal communication since it gives them more opportunities.Īnd if that’s the most important thing to your student, then go for the T-Mobile Sidekick 3. That does and doesn’t work for a couple of reasons - mostly because iPods are the dominant music player and the music players featured on most phones won’t come close to usurping it’s dominance. Wireless companies are vying for this demographic, thinking the best thing must be to cram everything into it and make it an all-in-one. That doesn’t mean the functional is going to hit all the marks wanted by the typical student. ![]() But if it’s a choice between flashy and functional, they’ll probably go for the functional.
